On Wednesday, August 31 at 6:00 PM the message "I Will Go" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD. The message was taken from Genesis 24:1-20, Genesis 24:54-67 and John 4:11-14.
The Bible reveals the relationship between God and His church as the relationship of marriage. And this message is one of the best passages touches this subject. Rebekah set the example of the perfect candidate for a bride, and Abraham, Abraham's servant and Isaac do all the right things in searching for her.
Christine found in this passage the Godly method of choosing a bride and the way to know if one has succeeded. The servant was wisely told to go only to their own people, and to go to a well. She came to the well early and this signified her love for God's Word. It also showed her serving attitude and broad heart, because she gave the servant water and watered all ten thirsty camels as well. Most importantly, when asked if she wanted to leave right away or wait she said I will go now. The selection of one's marriage partner was done very carefully with a focus on love for God and for His kingdom.
After the service, all the members present shared and discussed how this message applied to their lives, including some ways they experienced it in the past.
