On Friday, August 5, 2016, at 6:00 PM the message "But the Lord is With Us" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD. This message was taken from Numbers 13:25-14:38 and Joshua 14:6-12.
This is one of those places in the Old Testament the Bible talks about being given as an example for the believer today. Moses sent twelve spies to search out the Promised Land of Canaan and only two of them believed they would be able to take it. The other ten spies forgot all that had just happened to them and doubted and murmured against God and Moses. They tempted God ten times.
Christine observed there were two reports, one good and one bad. Caleb and Joshua ignored the plain reality of the situation (there were great giants occupying the land) in light of all the recent miracles done by God, including His parting the Red Sea. Even though the modern day believer's situation looks equally hopeless, they should trust and believe God as Joshua and Caleb did. They should keep fishing for souls of men even though few seem to be responding. In this way, they will help prepare the world for Jesus' coming Kingdom.
Prayer was performed for the Sunday service, for the upcoming retreat, and for member requests including help against the falling world, jobs, growth for the Church and Qurdosh's friend Sophia who has cancer.
