On Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 6:00 PM the message "Unless You Are Born Again" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD.  The message was taken from John 19:1-15, 39, 7:50-51, Jeremiah 17:24, Ezekiel 36:23-28, 1 Peter 1:23 and James 1:18.

This sermon was a further detailed study of the conversation Jesus had about the born again experience and what it all entails. The message contains the reason why did Nicodemus came to Jesus at night, who he was and what it really means to be born again.

Christine shared Nicodemus was not just a Pharisee but one of the seventy Sanhedrin ruling class Pharisees.  He would have known all the Old Testament Scriptures in minute detail, and was very wealthy. He came to Jesus at night for secrecy and because it was a Jewish tradition to study God's Word at night.  Later he at least tried to defend Jesus at His trial and did prepare spices for His burial.  However, his efforts at keeping all the law were never going to be enough to save him. That is why he needed to be born again and changed from within from above.

Everyone needs to be fundamentally changed, and that's not from their own efforts or merits. They need to be baptized by Spirit, the Spirit of truth. The spirit comes in the form of God's words. This is the new spirit promised in Ezekiel 36. Everyone who comes to Jesus should be born again of imperishable through the living and enduring word of God.

Members realized how important it is to listen to the words of God and continually study.
