Sioux Fall Gratia Wednesday Service "Make Them Come In So My House Will Be Full"

On Wednesday, July 27 at 6:00 PM the message "Make Them Come In So My House Will Be Full" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD.  The message was taken from Luke 14:15-24.

Those present with Jesus when He was eating understood it will be a great blessing to eat meat in the kingdom of God to come, but what they didn't know is who will be at the table to eat the meat.  In this passage, Jesus explains who will be at the great feast in heaven, and they are not who most people might think they will be.

Christine pointed out the "certain man" in this parable is God, those prepared to come to the great supper are the Jews, and the "poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind" are the Gentiles and others who were not prepared for the supper.  God doesn't want to eat all the blessings of heaven (the meat) by Himself.  He wants His house to be full.  The Lord worked hard to prepare His people for the reward of heaven, and when they didn't want it He was both angry and heartbroken.  So, He sent His "servant" out to gather as many of the unprepared people into His house as possible.

The question was asked who the servant was.  Bob's mother Beverly said it is the Holy Spirit.  Christine said it is all of us the disciples of Jesus Christ.

However, we all agreed everybody is invited to come to the great supper and should accept and respond to His precious invitation by receiving Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Beverly offered to give her brother's Bible study book collection to the church.
