Sioux Falls Gratia Wednesday Service "Be Sober and Vigilant"

On Wednesday June 22, 2016 at 7:00 PM the message "Be Sober and Vigilant" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD.  The message was taken from 1 Peter 5:1-11.

Peter encouraged the other elders to feed the flock out of God's love as he was admonished to.  He thought he was strong but failed because he fought in his own strength.  Since those elders and the elders today are charged with the care of God's flock they have to be extra careful.  Peter experienced first hand being devoured by the enemy, so he knows well how to warn the others about Satan being able to destroy any sheep at the slightest opportunity or leak.

Christine emphasized that Peter failed on his own power, but later he succeeded with God's help.  Also, leaders should serve freely out of God's love, remember they are here for a purpose, be good examples to the flock, help each other, be humble and gentle like sheep, and not leave even a small opening to the enemy.

Bruce noticed from verse 10 there were four benefits for those who suffer for Jesus.  They will be made perfect, be established, be strengthened and be settled.
