On Friday June 17, 2016 at 7:00 PM the message "I Have Many People in This City" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD. This message was taken from Acts 18:9-10 and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5.
After just experiencing what seemed to be a failure in Athens Paul now has real fear about what is going to happen to him and what challenges he will face in the even bigger city of Corinth.
Christine shared this should encourage the believer today knowing that even Paul could have weakness, fear and apprehension after all the encounters he had with the Lord. If Paul can learn to trust God and fear not, then so can any Christian. When one follows the Lord there will be fruit of souls reaped in the most unlikely places. The other thought she shared is that Paul, after using his great intellect and knowledge in Athens, had now "determined not to know anything among (them), save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified". This message was given to coincide with the church's move coming up at the end of the month.
After this everyone present prayed that as Paul was led to Corinth where there would be many people to reach, so will it be also for the new building for Gratia Community Church to worship in. Then they prayed for each other. Specific needs of several members of the church were noted including Linda's mother moving into hospice care.
