On Friday May 27, 2016 at 7:00 PM the message "Twelve Springs and Seventy Palm Trees" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD. This message was taken from Exodus 15:22-27 and Jeremiah 33:3.
It didn't take long for the Israelis to discover their freedom wasn't going to be a bed of roses. Amazingly that the people of God who were blessed discovered that the difficulties were waiting for them after the liberation. However, the difference of faith between Moses and Israelites were revealed at the difficult moment. Israelites started complaining but Moses cried out to God.
Christine noted in the believers' lives blessings will come after times of suffering and loneliness. When in the desert times they need to have faith, call out to God and not complain. In the passage today the people got bitter, but should have been thanking God for their recent miraculous deliverance and trusting Him. According to the second passage, believers should "call on (God)" in their times of need and He will "show them great and mighty things, which they know not". And He did, because there was a tree (the cross of Christ) there which when thrown in the bitter waters made them sweet. The Lord absorbed all the bitterness for man. At the end of the passage the blessing they received was Elim, 12 springs and 70 Palm trees of rest.
Elim was a place for the restless people to receive the rest. May all the believers to become these springs and palm trees to give the rest to the weary souls wondering in the dark world.
After this everyone present prayed for themselves, for the needs of the church, and then they prayed for each other. Specific needs of several members of the church were noted. Surely prayer is the only hope for all the peoples' needs to be met, and for deliverance from sin.
