On Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 7:00 PM the message "The Birth of Moses" was given by Minister Christine Lee at Gratia Community Church in Sioux Falls, SD. The message was taken from Exodus 2 and Hebrews 11:23-29.
The Bible is full of examples where faithful women are recognized as bringing about God's great purpose. Exodus chapter two is a perfect candidate for this phenomenon. Not only did the midwives fear God and saved many souls alive, but Moses' mom and sister put their lives in danger to save Moses alive recognizing him as a man called to a great calling.
Christine noted it took a long time for Moses' mom and sister to prepare the basket just like it took a long time for Noah to build the ark. This showed much faithfulness and fear of God. She also recognized Moses was put in the palace to learn his enemy well, and he loved his people enough to give up all the comforts and luxuries of Egypt. The second passage for the day illustrates these themes in great detail.
Luke talked about Moses having great character because he was willing to give up all the power and wealth of the kingdom. He had the character of leadership.
Everybody present was in awe of just how great this man of God was and had a more thorough understanding of all that he accomplished for the Lord.
